Where The Flowers Still Grow

Read Time: < 1 minute

Bharat Sikkaā€™s stunning collection of photographs from Kashmir

In 2014 and 2015, after reading Mirza Waheedā€™s novel The Collaborator, photographer Bharat Sikka travelled to the valley of Kashmir to photograph its people in an attempt to ā€œmake some sense of their dilemma through his personal experience.ā€ Ā The result is a stunning series of portraits, mostly of men, against the wild landscape of valley. What is perhaps most haunting about these images, is the sense of isolation that they evoke. Have a look.

Where The Flowers Still Grow is on exhibition at the Nature Morte Gallery, New Delhi, until May 27th
