Love and Radio is a cosmic pollen cloud of audio awesomeness. As storytelling, it’s breaking new ground.
Each episode of Love and Radio consists of a mixture of fact and fiction, presented in a series of interviews and stories related to a theme. The show’s subjects have been described as “people on the cultural edge” and “intriguing characters who aren’t quite who you think they are when you first meet them”.
In 2011, Love and Radio became the first podcast to win the top prize at the Third Coast Festival Competition (often described as the “Sundance of public radio”). In 2013, it won an honorable mention at Third Coast, becoming the first podcast to win multiple TCF awards.
In this specific episode the director of Love and Radio Nick van der Kolk takes us through the life of Davecat and Sidore who have had a blissful marriage together in the suburbs of Detroit. One day, a Russian woman showed up unexpectedly at their doorstep, declared her love for both of them, and asked to move in. It was a complicated situation, but that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of this unusual threesome.
