Varun Grover Collaborates with Indie Artists

Read Time: < 1 minute

The National award winning lyricist and comedian, in alliance with Songdew—a music streaming website, recently held a competition that gave new comers a chance to work with him.

Thirty-seven-year-old Varun Grover has always had a soft spot for a good cause. When he won the National Award for the lyrics of his song Moh Moh Ke Dhaage in the film, Dum Laga Ke Haisha last year, he donated his prize money to Mahrashtrian farmers. It is therefore no surprise, that his latest collaboration, Beete Dino Ke Geet, with Krishna Chetan, a US based music producer is his attempt to give Chetan a well deserved break in the world of independent music.

Grover chose Chetan to produce the track after Songdew, a music streaming company, organised a competition and called for entries on his behalf. “Indie music or cinema, both are tough games, suitable only for people with huge patience and talent. Lacking even one of those and the indie scene can be quite brutal. But having both of them can get you all the love a ‘mainstream’ artist otherwise gets. There are enough success stories in indie music scene too to make it a hopeful scenario. From Indian Ocean to Raghu Dixit to Nucleya.”

The single is now being released by Songdew on 200+ digital stores including Saavn, Hungama, Itunes, Amazon etc. Chetan on the other hand is excited about being able to contribute to Indian music and hopes that he can work with him again.
