Rohit Chawla recreates some classic Indian Art in this stunning photo series

One of India’s leading contemporary photographers, Rohit Chawla is known for his recreation of tableaus and compositions of some seminal works of art including those of Gustav Klimt and Frida Kahlo. These photographs which are a part of Tasveer’s travelling exhibition, The Inspired Frame along with some work inspired by miniature paintings are a must-see if you’re into real life recreations of old classics. A selection of these works from the Ravi Varma, like A Mysore Lady near the Well (Aditi Rao Hydari), Lady Holding a Fan (Reshmi Ghosh) and Vasantasena (Anoushka Shankar) are also a part of Tasveer’s exhibit at India Art Fair 2017.
