Asha Stuart, an African American film-maker met a Sidi man in Bangalore, which led her to explore the diaspora of the community living almost on the fringes of Indian society. Stuart has said that it was the parallels between the struggles of Sidis in India and the African Americans in America that compelled her to make the short film. Check it out below.
