India In A Day

Watch the country’s first crowd-sourced documentary

In october 2015, Ridley Scott, Anurag Kashyap and Google asked Indians to shoot a day in their life and submit it as part of an experimental project. One lakh and sixty thousand people submitted their videos, some as long as 15 hours, 400 hours of footage in total. Filmmaker Richie Mehta and his 14 member team took three months to get through the material submitted and another four months to edit it. At the end of it, they had India In A Day—a unique one-of-a-kind crowd-sourced project that gives you an insight into India through the eyes of the people who inhabit it. It is a film as fascinating and full of contradictions as the country it represents.
